At Cementa AB in Sweden, the belt for cement clinker is made of a special rubber compound resistant to temperatures up to 900 C. The belt conveyor can be provided with temperature sensors.Raw material substitutions and hazardous wastes for incineration.

The very first Sicon conveyor was installed at a cement factory.
Some years ago Sicon assisted the largest cement producer in Sweden in eliminating the dust and spillage problems related to the transport of sand and limestone from the stockpile to the buffer hoppers at the mill. This was the very first installation of a Sicon conveyor.
Dust and spillage. A major problem in the cement industry.
Before the installation of the Sicon conveyor, no less than four conventional belt conveyors, connected via transfer chutes, were used to handle the transport. The total length of transport was 270 meters. Great amounts of spillage were accumulated under the conveyors. There were also dust problems at the transfer points.The solution: One single, enclosed conveyor with no transfers!
Sicon installed its new and uniquely enclosed belt conveyor. It can negotiate very sharp corners without the need for any transfers. A new covered gallery was built for part of the distance. For the remaining distance, existing buildings and structures were used to run the Sicon conveyor the shortest way between the loading and discharge points.The result was one enclosed conveying system, covering the whole transport without transfers. The distance was 20 meters shorter, and the new conveyor also used much less space than conventional belt conveyors. Above all, the client enjoyed transport entirely without dust problems and spillage (see drawings).
