E151-S SCRAPER - ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
- Referring to the parts list check that the correct parts and quantities have been supplied for the model and belt width of scraper ordered.
- Normally scrapers are supplied with Blades (3) and Stoppers (5) assembled on the Carrier Shaft. If this is not the case, assemble these components as shown. Do not over-tighten Set Screws. If necessary use a rubber mallet to tap the blades into position.
- Depending upon the installation access (see Drg. no. S070) one or both of the carrier shaft end pieces (3 piece shaft) may now be attached. Check whether the optional off-set plates are to be used and if so ensure that they are correctly assembled. Ensure that all nuts and bolts are firmly fastened.
- Remove the clamp plates from the square mounts (7).
- Check that lock nuts move freely on spindle (6).
- Proceed with installation as per installation guide.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Refer to the Assembly Instructions, Parts List and Drg BS 015-B to confirm that all the necessary parts have been supplied and that the scraper is correctly assembled.
- Referring to the dimensions given in the table above select the optimum position for the scraper and mark the location of the access apertures.
- With reference to Drg BS 019-A select the most convenient location for the mounting spindle. There are four possible positions but in all cases ensure that the spindle remains at 90 ( 10) to the belt surface. If no suitable location can be found to attach the spindle foot either to the chute or onto the conveyor structure the optional off-set plates may be used as shown in Drg BS 017-2. Note that off-set plates are not supplied as standard but must be ordered separately.
- Fix the spindles (6) firmly in position.
- Check that spindle nuts move freely.
- Locate Square Mount (7) on spindles as shown and remove Clamp Plates from Square Mount (7).
- Check that Carrier Shaft End Pieces and Carrier Shaft Centre Piece are firmly bolted together.
- Position Carrier Shaft underneath the conveyor belt centrally with reference to belt edges and Head Pulley.
- Attach mounting clamp plates to assembled Carrier Shaft as shown.
- Position Carrier Shaft and attached clamp plates on square mount as shown and fit washers and nuts. Tighten finger tight.
Note: It may be necessary to adjust the location of the Square Mount on the Spindle by means of the spindle nuts so that the blades clear the belt surface.
- Lay a straight edge on the top face of the Carrier Shaft end and rotate the assembled Carrier Shaft and Clamp Plates in the slots in the Clamp Plates until the straight edge is parallel to the belt surface.
Note: This step must be done carefully to ensure that the angle of the blade to the belt is correct.
- Tighten bolts and nuts. Do not over tighten!
- By means of the spindle nuts adjust the scraper towards the belt surface until all the blades contact the belt surface.
- Start the conveyor and check if all blades are moving freely and scraping in full contact with the belt surface.
- Check that all nuts and bolts are firmly fastened.
- At this stage adjust the scraper towards the belt by means of the spindle nuts until all blades are scraping satisfactorily.
Note: Check that front and rear blades are scraping with equal pressure. If not, stop the belt and make fine adjustment by slightly slackening the clamp plate nuts and rotating the complete Carrier Shaft the required amount. Re-tighten. Start the belt and again check equal scraping pressure. If necessary repeat the above procedure until satisfactory results are achieved.
- Check that the spindle lock nuts are firmly tightened.
