E201-S Belt Scraper
E201-S
Applications
Universal choice for all normal cleaning applications.
Not suitable for mounting directly onto the head pulley.
Used in conjunction with torsion arm mountings to accommodate differing belt thicknesses on the same conveyor and excessive belt movement due to pulley eccentricity, thereby ensuring constant contact pressure with the belt.
Selection of correct blade material gives optimum blade life under all operating conditions and conveyed materials.
Features
Patented V-base torsion holder makes blade changing simple eliminating the need to remove the scraper from its mountings.
Fully sealed construction of torsion holder unit prevents material build up or ingress into the spring unit.
Twin arm design of the torsion holder prevents radial and lateral blade oscillations and only allows longitudinal blade movement thus ensuring uniform and constant blade contact with the belt, irrespective of variations in belt thicknesses and surface conditions.
Light weight polymeric material used for the torsion holder ensures ease of handling, corrosion protection and minimum impact on belt surface after deflection.
Patented blade torsion holder and blade design incorporating a deflector skirt ensures accurate assembly and a clean running scraper.

E 201 S SCRAPER - ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Referring to the parts list check that the correct parts and quantities have been supplied for the model and belt width of scraper ordered.
2. Normally scrapers are supplied with Blades (3) and Torsion Holders (4) assembled and fixed to the carrier shaft. If this is not the case, assemble these components as shown.
3. Check that the Blades (3) are free to deflect forwards and backwards. If any blades foul those adjacent, slightly slacken stopper set screws and tap the torsion holders (4) sideways until the Blades (3) clear each other. Tighten stopper set screws.
Note: There should be approximately 0,5mm gap between blades.4. Check that the edges of the Blades (3) are in line and level. This is done by means of a straight edge or by resting the assembly with the blade edges on a level work bench. If any blades are not level, slightly slacken blade nuts and using a rubber or wooden mallet gently tap the blades into line. Tighten the blade nuts firmly.
5. Depending upon the installation access (see Installation Guide paragraph 1) an optional 3 piece shaft may be required. Then one or both of the carrier shaft end pieces may now be attached. Check whether the optional off-set plates are to be used and if so ensure that they are correctly assembled. Ensure that all nuts and bolts are firmly fastened.
6. Remove the mounting clamp plates from the Square Mounts (7).
7. Check that spindle nuts move freely on Spindle (6).
8. Proceed with installation as per installation guide.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Refer to the Assembly Instructions, Parts List and Drg BS 004-B to confirm that all the necessary parts have been supplied and that the scraper is correctly assembled. Depending upon access space it may be necessary to use an optional 3 piece shaft. Then attach one or both of the Carrier Shaft End Pieces once the scraper is in position.
2. Referring to the dimensions given in the table above select the optimum position for the scraper and mark the location of the access apertures.
3. With reference to Drg overleaf select the most convenient location for the mounting spindle (6). There are two possible positions but in all cases ensure that the spindle remains at 90deg ( 10deg) to the belt surface. If no suitable location can be found to attach the spindle foot either to the chute or onto the conveyor structure the optional off-set plates may be used as shown in Drg BS 018-2. Note that off-set plates and 3 piece shafts are not supplied as standard but must be ordered separately.
4. Fix the Spindles (6) firmly in position.
5. Check that Spindle nuts move freely.
6. Locate Square Mount (7) on spindles as shown and remove clamp plates from Square Mount (7).
7. Check that Carrier Shaft End Pieces and Carrier Shaft Centre Piece are firmly bolted together (optional).
8. Position carrier shaft underneath the conveyor belt centrally with reference to belt edges and head pulley.
9. Attach mounting clamp plates to assembled Carrier Shaft as shown.
Note: Assemble Washers and Nuts finger tight only.
10. Position carrier shaft and attached clamp plates on square mount as shown and fit washers and nuts, finger tight only.
Note: It may be necessary to adjust the location of the square mount on the spindle by means of spindle nuts so that the blades clear the belt surface.
11. Lay a straight edge on the top face of the carrier shaft end and rotate the assembled Carrier Shaft and Clamp Plates in the slots in the Clamp Plates until the straight edge is parallel to the belt surface.
Note: This step must be done carefully to ensure that the angle of the blade to the belt is correct.
12. Tighten bolts and nuts. Do not over tighten!
13. By means of the spindle nuts adjust the scraper towards the belt surface until all the blades contact the belt surface.
14. Adjust the scraper one further full turn of the spindle nuts towards the belt.
15. Push all blades free of the belt surface in the direction of belt travel and allow them to return to the belt surface under the torsion holder tension.
Note: The blades should now rest on the belt surface 10 to 20 mm away from their original contact joint.
16. Check that all blades can move freely.
17. Start the conveyor and check if all blades are moving freely and scraping in full contact with the belt surface.
18. Check that all nuts and bolts are firmly fastened.
