E 901-T SCRAPER - ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Referring to the parts list check that the correct parts and quantities have been supplied for the model and belt width of scraper ordered.

2. Normally scrapers are supplied with blades (3) and stoppers (5) assembled on the Carrier Shaft. If this is not the case, assemble these components as shown. Do not over-tighten stopper set screw. If necessary use a rubber mallet to tap the blades into position.

3. Depending upon the installation access (see Installation Guide paragraph #1.) one or both of the optional 3 piece carrier shaft end pieces may now be attached. Ensure that all nuts and bolts are firmly fastened.

4. Remove the clamp bars from the mountings (8).

5. Check that spindle nuts move freely on mounting spindles (6).

6. Proceed with installation as per Installation Guide.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Refer to the Assembly Instructions, Parts List and Drg BS 016-A to confirm that all the necessary parts have been supplied and that the scraper is correctly assembled. Depending upon access space it may be easier to attach one or both of the carrier shaft end pieces once the scraper is in position.
Note 1: The blade tip should be positioned in the area shown on the DWG.
Note 2: The correct scraper is selected with reference to the belt width in the Table.
Note 3: After fixing the position of the blade on the head pulley, the position of the spindle is determined by referring to the Drgs herewith and to the dimensions Table.
Note 4: The Mounting Spindle centre line must always remain parallel to a line drawn from the pulley centre and accurately positioned with reference to dimension A and B.

2. Referring to the dimensions given in the table select the optimum position for the scraper and mark the location of the access apertures.

3. Fix the Spindles (6) firmly in position.

4. Check that spindle nuts move freely.

5. Locate Torsion Mounting on spindles as shown and, if not already done, remove Clamp Bar.

6. Pre-tension the scraper by pushing down the torsion arms and adjusting the stop screws.

7. Position assembled carrier shaft in mounting, and locate it centrally with reference to belt edges and head pulley.

8. Attach clamp bar and tighten set screws.

9. By means of spindle nuts adjust the scraper towards the belt surface until all the blades contact the belt surface.

10. Adjust the scraper one further full turn of the spindle nuts towards the belt.

11. Start the conveyor and check if all blades are moving freely and scraping in full contact with the belt surface.

12. Slacken the torsion arm stop screws, leaving a 6mm gap.

13. Check that the scraper can move freely on the torsion mountings.

14. Check that all nuts and bolts are firmly fastened.
