Starting Joining
Place tail pulley or tightening idler in the innermost position. For installations with short centre distance or little possibility of retensioning it may be necessary to remove tail pulley or tightening idler during joining in order to get sufficient tension.
Mount belt clamps, and tighten up belt, for instance by means of a winch, until it lies tightly on the installation.
In order to facilitate cutting we recommend that a support be placed, for instance a wooden board under the belt ends.
In case of hot joining the belt length must be adjusted so that there will be room for hot plate, support if required, and retainer iron.
The joining surfaces should be protected from moisture, dust, draught, and direct sunlight, if necessary by means of tent or windscreen.
