Introduction

Invariably conveyors require access platforms and walkways to enable operators and maintenance personnel to gain access to the various components on a conveyor.

Primarily there are four types of flooring which can be used, depending on the particular application and it is important that the designer understands the merits and demerits of each type of flooring. 

In addition to flooring this section also deals with handrailing and provides information regarding the different components which are used in handrails and outlines some layout considerations which should be borne in mind.
