Protective collars
The following is an extract from the SKF catalogue, edited for this Handbook.
Where operating conditions are severe, the 'V'-ring and felt seals of plummer blocks SNA 505 to SNA 518 and SNA 605 to SNA 615 may be supplemented by a light alloy collar, a standard component available from SKF.
The collar protects the seals against damage and also improves the sealing effect. The bore diameter tolerance is H10.
The protective collars are designated TSNA (000) B, for example TSNA 505 B.
