Pulley Bearings

Introduction

This section deals specifically with bearings as they apply to conveyor pulleys.

For more information on bearings in general, click here or select the appropriate topic on the contents bar to the left of your screen.

The correct selection of bearings for a pulley is dependant on a number of issues which have been addressed in the Beginners Guide to Pulleys. Standard, practical practice should be followed wherever possible and this section of the Ckit Handbook sets out the generally accepted bearing selection procedure.

Bearings are proprietary items supplied by vendors such as SKF, Timken, Coopers, FAG and so on. It is understood that end-users on site tend to try and standardise on one bearing manufacturer and thus, this section attempts to make available the equivalent information from all of the abovementioned bearing suppliers.

Also, links to the suppliers are provided as appropriate or visitors can search for their suppliers information by clicking on the "Suppliers" tag at the top of this screen.

Pulley bearing housings and sole plates have also been included in this section on 'pulleys' under their own headings, which can be accessed via the contents bar to the left of your screen.
